At Hoksbergen Hay 1999 LLC., we carry several different grades and varieties of hay for sale.  There is a brief description of the alfalfa carried along with a table for our alfalfa and the miscellaneous hay we carry.  The following tables will list and describe each grade and variety including ADF, Protein, and other common measurements where applicable.  

Dairy Alfalfa: The higher grade of alfalfa, used primarily to feed dairy cows.  

Feeder Alfalfa: The lower grade of alfalfa, used primarily for feeding dairy dry cows, and beef cattle

Horse Alfalfa: A higher grade of alfalfa that looks similar to dairy hay.  It is usually from 2nd and 3rd cuttings, with  excellent green color, soft fine stems, and good leaf retention. Generally horse alfalfa has  lower protein.  This hay is  available only in 2-tie and 3-tie small bales.

Alfalfa Cubes:  We also carry alfalfa cubes.  The grading on cubes is similar to dairy and feeder alfalfa grading.  The cubes we carry are export quality dairy cubes and domestic quality feeder cubes.
